Joomla! 1.5
Joomla! 1.5 Beta-2 is feature complete so dive in under the hood and lets see what you can create. There never has been a better time to get motivated as this is the last beta prior to release candidate. With Joomla! 1.5 the Joomla! project really starts firing on all cylinders. The difference between our current 1.0.12 and the forthcoming 1.5 Beta-2 are not easy to describe, but in essence Joomla! 1.0.x was based upon the Mambo codebase, whereas Joomla! 1.5 has been completely rewritten from scratch. Joomla! 1.0.x was written with "freedom of use" in mind; with Joomla! 1.5 we expanded on this and added "ease of use". This all sounds very nice, but what does it mean? Freedom of use refers to the unlimited possibilities you have when building web-sites, and with ease of use we have tried to make life simpler for the end user, the web administrator and of course the third party developers.

Jmovies Joomla Movie Lists Component

Same of most important features of v1.2 are:
• Movie lists (for Last Added, Most Viewed, Top Rated) use eye-candy AJAX effects.
• The voting check is now improved in order to avoid repeated clicks from the same users.
• Movies can be assigned to multiple (but single level) categories. Wich means you can categorize some movie e.g. in Sci-Fi and Action as well. Multi-level support will come soon.
• Native JoomlaWorks "Allvideos" plugin support. You can use AllVideos to easily add video trailers/clips to your movies, using services like YouTube, Google Video, iFilm etc. to host the videos or even your own or some friend's server!
• Joom!Fish support.
• Improved search functionality.
• And many more...

CB rating
***New ebay-like user rating plugin for CB***
Modified cb_karma rating plugin to work like the ebay rating system.
* Scale from 0-6
* positive ratings percentage
* the users have to give some reason for their ratings.
* if parameter daylock=0 the user can rate only once
Demo on German classified ads page (plugin in english).
Altthough its German, the registration process should be straightforward. (e-mail confirmation!)
- Register,
- login
- click on an ad
- click on the user e.g. "heinz" in the header of the ad
- click on the tab "Bewertungen" (german for rating)
- a click on the thumbs opens the ratings details ordered by date.
Your rating is not shown immediately. You have to reload the page (and click on the thumbs again for the details - I will change this soon).
You need to install the rating component AND the cb-plugin.

Modul Random Quotes from content items
With this module it is possible to show a random quote in a module position of your Joomla!-Template. The quote will be shown depending on the current content category or extracted from a content item you placed in a default category (e.g. 'quotes').
In order to be picked as a quote from the module, the content items need to have a title in the form of '!Zitat![Source/Author]' and the access level has to be set to 'Special' for the content item (this prevents the quotes from being searched by the internal search engine).
Replace [Source/Author] with the author or the source of the quote. And place in the intro text your quote.
mod_quotes does not need any additional text-files as do other quote-modules, and is very easy to use.
(of course it is also possible to 'missuse' this module for images, or any other content that can be presented in a content item)

yvComment Joomla 1.5 Comments Extension
yvComment is a comments extension (component + plugin) for Joomla! 1.5 only! This extension allows users to add comments to any Article. yvComment is written from scratch specifically for Joomla! 1.5 and it is not compatible with previous versions of Joomla!/Mambo. So it is free to use most advanced features of Joomla! 1.5. It is required to install both "yvComment Component" and "yvComment Plugin". Distribution package contains both Component and Plugin zipped files inside it. All configuration setting of this extension are set in "yvComment Plugin parameters" (Administrator interface->Extensions->Plugin Manager->yvcomment).
To add Comments, user have to be logged on. You may configure, if comments are visible to unregistered users, by "Access level" of yvComment Plugin.
By default, yvComment uses the same storage (database table), as Articles. So, you may use for Comments the same "Article manager" and even Joomla! extensions, designed for Articles.
To separate Comments (of Articles) from Articles themselves (and from other content, e.g. news etc.), you have to select Section for Comments (in yvComment Plugin parameters).
Just from frontend, user may edit his (or her) comment (clicking the same image as for editing articles), if this is the last comment of the thread. Administrator may edit or delete any comment.
yvComment uses simple css file components/com_yvcomment/default.css), that may be used as a start point for customization.
Currently yvComment is translated into two languages: English and Russian.
